Zipolite is a beach located in the state of Oaxaca’s Pacific coast of Mexico. The beach is one that attracts different types of tourism, but visitors beware: when you get here you may see a lot more than just the beautiful beach. Zipolite is known as the one beach in Mexico where it is completely fine to go Au Naturale (aka a nude beach) so although not everyone that you see here will be nude, a lot of them will be. Of course nudism is not the only thing that attracts tourism to this Oaxaca beach. There are also good vibes which visitors always claim to feel; and the view (of the ocean) is as good as it gets.
Lodging
Visiting Zipolite will save you a lot of money not only because you do not really have to buy a bathing suit, but also because lodging here can be very affordable. If you are willing to spend 40 dollars you could get a nice room or bungalow, but if you want to save some money then why not go for a camping option. Camping can be as little as ten dollars and as much as 15 dollars per night. If you are willing to go as high as 45 dollars a night you could stay at Casa Vista D’Oro and get some amazing views of the sunset right from the hotel. You would feel as if you are spending a lot more than 45 dollars a night for what you are getting.
Not Very Convenient
So getting to Zipolite is a bit of a headache, in fact you will have to take a small truck which is the method of transportation to get there, or a taxi. You will also have to deal with not really having a big supermarket to buy your supplies and forget about an ATM, the closest one is one the main road to Puerto Escondido at an Oxxo Convenience store. You should not let that stop you however as you will get a lot for the “inconvenience” of getting away from it all. This is as real as you will get for a fun secluded Mexican beach destination. Some may call it an inconvenience; we call it a relaxing vacation.
The Water And Waves
The one thing that you do have to watch out for is the currents here. Like most beaches in the area there is a very strong current at times. You would do well to stay close to the shore as swimming is not recommended here. There are some great waves for surfing and you will be able to rent surfing equipment and take some classes for it if you are new to the sport. Nude beach or not, Zipolite does make for a great Mexican beach destination.

How do I get there? I cannot find any flights to Puerto Escondido or Huatulco.
Hi Tom
The Huatulco airport code is HUX and Puerto Escondido is PXM. Most flights are available from Mexico but you can find them using those codes. I know that you can find them on Expedia, but chances are that you will have to do a connection flight on Mexico City.
Thanks for your visit

Is there scuba diving in the area?
Hi Sara
Zipolite’s water is rough and the currents are tricky. The best choice near Zipolite for scuba is Huatulco which is very easy to get to by bus
Nice to here about. Sip but telling people about it will ruin it. Its only nice because. Hardly any one goes there. Next time there is a cool place shut up!! !
It’s appropriate time to make some plans for the long run and it is time to be happy. I have learn this post and if I could I want to recommend you some interesting issues or advice. Perhaps you could write subsequent articles referring to this article. I wish to read more things about it!

Hi Larry
The easiest way would be to flu into the Huatulco airport (HUX). From Phoenix you would have to make a transfer at the Mexico City. You would be able to find housing which can go from 2500 pesos (close to 230 dollars a month) to 10,000 pesos (about 900 dollars a month)
Enjoy your stay however long that is
